Langholm The Muckle Toun Tartan
Langholm "The Muckle Toun" Tartan was launched on the 1st of October 2020. Using the Armstrong (being a local clan) Tartan design and replacing the colours.The Green and Purple represent the surrounding hills and the glorious purple heather which can be seen during the summer months.
The Red (Crimson) and Navy are the colours of Langholm Rugby Club the oldest club in the Borders founded in 1871.Also the Red and Navy plus the White and Gold are all present in the Burgh Standard (Flag) which can be seen on the last Friday in July carried on horseback by the elected Cornet.
The Grey represents Langholms rich history in the textile industry which dates back to the late 1700s.
